The Design And Implementation Of The Office Information System Of Shangdong University

The development of the internet has produced a great impact on the information processing system. The traditional information processing system with the C/S, however, tends to lead to bulkiness at the user's end and bottle-neck of resources at the server's end. Based on the internet, the B/S file managing system has only to have a standard internet explorer installed. This installation makes the B/S mode different from the C/S mode which requires specific applied program at each user's computer. The B/S mode functions can be all carried out on the server,thus making the development and maintenance of the system as well as the operation on the part of the user easier.The present study, based on the comparison between, and the scrutiny of the current popular web development techniques, selects J2EE as the integrated structure of the system.And,in fact.full investigations have been made beforehand of the various demands in connection with the design and implimentation of the office information system of Shandong University.Accordingly,the relevant method of the software project has been applied,J2EE used as technical framework,Tomcat/Jboss as server,and SQL server 2000 as data server.Such functions can be carried out as managing documents,archives,meetings,personnel,traffic vehicles,property,and visit and receptions. The system makes it possible for the paper files to be supplanted by the electronic files,and the manual transmission to be replaced by the internet transmission.It helps to reduce expenditure,rid the trouble of handling files by hand,and increase work speed,thus realizing a qualitative leap in office work.With the development of the office information system of Shandong University as an individual case,the present study has made a detailed analysis of the design and implementation of the said system,and presented before the readers a complete process from demand analysis to program design.the mintegrated as well as framework to the operation of the whole system.The said system can meet the needs of carrying out the office information processing functions on the part of university in general,and be combined with the other sorts of workflow so as to increase their work and management efficiency.
