With the popularization of computer network and the development of communication technology, the Office Automation System has become more and more mature. Nowadays, the Office Automation System is widely applied in many domestic universities. However, it is less used in vocational schools. The main reasons restricting the application and development of the system in such schools mainly lie in the high-cost of development and the difficulties to operate the system because of its powerful functions.In recent years, the scale enlargement of vocational schools is followed by some problems including too many message sources and information, data inconsistence, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to create an efficient Office Automation System for vocational schools.In this article, the author analyzes the particular application of the system with careful consideration of its investment, the building period and the maturity of the technology. Besides, by using database and interface design, the author adopts J2EE as the development platform and introduces the use of database and interface design in the article. Firstly, the author introduces some key technologies in the system. Secondly, the author constructs a framework of the system, and then makes descriptions of the designs and functions of every module, and finally operates the system successfully. The main point of views in the article includes: (1) realizing data sharing and information communicating between document serving system and OA system; (2) improving the extensibility of the document serving platform, and providing the interface with the document server in the OA system.The author combines the practical development process of Shantou Senior Technical School to provide useful reference for the constructions of the Office Automation System in other vocational schools.
