With the continuous development of micro-electronic industry and the rapid improvement of FPGA technology, SOPC technology has become a new research direction for the technology of Embedded System. However, the SOPC system design is based on the design of Intellectual property core (IP), which takes advantage of reusable feature to reduce the development cycle and complexity.Consequently, a high-performance processor is the hard-core of a SOPC system, which makes processor selection particularly important in the process of SOPC design. NIOS II, a configurable 32-bit RISC soft-core processor, is the second-generation production of Altera Company. And the users who use NIOS II processor can adjust the performance and cost of a designed Embedded System according to the needs of themselves, launch products to market rapidly and extend the products'lifecycle effectively.Acquisition and Processing of audio and video signal is one of the embedded application technology fields. Therefore, Interfacing IP core for audio and video processor based on NIOS II is cared by lots of designers.First, the SOC technology is introduced in the paper, as well as the SOPC technology, the concept of IP core and the state of the art of its development. Second, the bottom layer of the interface module for audio and video processing and the implementation procession are expounded and its making process is expounded. Third, IP core testing processes using SOPC testing system is introduced. Finally, the testing result of the Interfacing IP core for audio and video processor is presented. The method of implementing Interfacing IP core for audio and video processor is researched deeply in this paper, which provides the reuse implementing Interfacing IP core for audio and video processor for developers of related systems. The research which will efficiently shorten the period of audio video system exploitation, offers the use for reference for the correlative IP development.
