The multi-dimensional styles that have played an important role in the 1940s~1960s American magazine layout especially Netherlands Stijl and Russian Constructivism, and Bauhaus graphic design theory and The International Typographic Style theory and internationalism plane design style, which are the most important influencing factors, have expedited the production of New York Graphic Design Style and had a profound influence to American magazines'layout styles of this period. Both the technical and artistic characteristics of this period magazines'layout have scored tremendous development. The Grid System's design method obtains the widespread application in this time. As a result of the Grid System's use and the mechanized standardization's layout, as well as printing and camera technique's improvement, causes the information transmission to be more explicit. The image manifestation as well as the massive succinct typefaces are utilized in the magazine layout, which causes this time's magazine layout presenting the particularity both in the image and writing.The 1940s~1960s' American magazine layout has abandoned the numerous and diverse redundancy decorations basically, and different designers also had the important influence to this time's magazine layout.
