The Version Research About Zhang Shenyan's Poetry

Zhang Shenyan(1577-1645), style Jinming, named Miaoshan and Miaogu, in the last stage of Ming Dynasty, he was an important poet of Yangcheng region of Shanxi province. He influenced a lot at that time and also the later period for the poem. Chen Tingjing honored him as a figure who had affected a lot of the local literature.Although Zhang Shenyan's poetry have a great achievement, all the various of published works of history of Chinese literary and history of poetics did not mention the academic value of his poetry, as to researches for him, only on a few small papers, which have a great relations of lack of complete and systematic organization, incomprehensive collection of versions and incomprehensive comparisons and researches of his poetries. If we could have a comprehensive arrangement of all various of spread versions of Zhang Shenyan's poetries now, we could gain the regular pattern of development and evolution of his poetry, we could provide precise and detailed situations for his life and the study of his poetry, we could obtain significant values of historical literature in the fields of the understanding and research of the History of Chinese Literature, the study, sect and the theoretic of the late Ming poetry, also we could acquire marked importance of academic research in the fields of the research and the exporting the information of the history of late Ming.The paper is divided into four parts:The first part is the life experience of Zhang Shenyan, with detailed introduction of his whole life experience. On acount of the classification of his poetry is according to the time, the comprehention about his experiences contributes a lot to a better understanding of his poetry, because it provides the appropriate basis of background for the study of his poetry. We also researched the exact birth and death of Zhang Shenyan, in solving the inconsistency of the historical data on the his birth and death questions. The second part is the research on various versions of Zhang Shenyan's poetry, mainly analysed aditions of different versions and the content of the collected poetries, and through the research of preface, postscript, and every parts of the text, analysed the characteristics and the values of each version. In addition, through all the collections of his own corpus, local history, inscriptions and other data, complementing those collections further. The third part is the comparison between the various versions, classified and compared differences between the various versions, analyzed the causes of differences. In addition, textual researched " Boshui House"and "Jishui House ", so that can we get a certain name of his poetry. The fourth part is the conclusion, sum up the pros and cons of each version, and provided some points of attentions in compiling new collection of Zhang Shenyan's poetry.This paper is aiming to collect all versions of Zhang Shenyan's poetries as far as possible, especially his rare versions works of the Ming Dynasty which have never been mentioned before, and as to the respects of the source and other poetries succeeded to, it will reference and under the related knowledge of the science of the catalogue of versions and the science of literary historical materials, trying to compare the similarities and differences between each version, textual research differences between versions, put all the versions of his poetries in order, and present them in the existing situation in the first complete system to sort it out for he first time. On the one hand to find the best version as the new manuscript of" Boshui House poetry", on the other hand clear the principle of collect books in the process of compiling the book should pay attention to the income, finished the preparations of pre-versions in order to arrange and proofread a integrated version of Zhang Shenyan's poetry,and prepared a solid literature foundation for the future research of Zhang Shenyan and "Boshui House poetry".
