With the development of science and technology, several kinds of techniques and methods applied to mineral exploration wells appeared constantly, especially the appearance of the imaging well logging which forward the geophysical prospecting to a new height. The history of imaging well logging was not very long, but its development was very fast, this tied closely to the development of integrated electronic technology, video processing technology and the computer multi-media. This paper reviews the development history of mineral exploration wells, understands the basic principles of many kinds of mineral exploration wells and introduces various inaging logging methods and instruments simplely. Through the research various imaging logging methods, especially the working principle and working process of the digital panoramic camera sys, this thesis proposes the drilling imaging system research based on embedded system. The system uses ARM as data processor, uses Linux as the kernel, change and configuration the kernel according to the specific needs.During the study, according to the different functiong, this system is divided into two modules:video signal receiving module and video signal processing module. The video signal receiving module received the analog signal from probe, and translated it into digital signal, this module mainly through the hardware implementation. The functiong of the processing module is to receice digital signal and then unzip display, coding storage, the working of this section is completed by softwore in kernel. In the writing process, the paper is divided into four parts according to the process of the research, including the introduction, embedded system reaearch, hardware circuit design and software system realized, actually the latest two parts are the detailed work of the second part.
