The Research And Implement Of Video System Based On Embedded Linux Operating System

Nowadays, Video-monitoring Systems have been widely put into used in our life.When network technology has been made great progress at present, the fields of videotechnology have been significantly expanded from analog technology. Besides, withthe rapid development of the outstanding technology based on Embedded OperatingSystem and high-integrated chips, video transmitting technology by internet must be adigital consumption in the future.The project of video system described in this thesis, is a part of network camerabased on the embedded Linux operating system (OS), and the function is to capturepictures with a camera and display them in the LCD of PXA255 platform, which wasmade by Intel company with the xscale architecture technology, but the function ofnetwork transmission, now, has not been designed.There are seven chapters in the thesis. The first one is introduction ofvideo-monitoring system, Intel Personal Internet Client Architecture and embeddedOS. Then, the integrated development environment of naked platform and linux OS isrefered. Next, we also explain how to transplant the embedded Linux OS to thePXA255 platform, and the brief introduction of embedded Windows CE.NET OS isalso involved. The hardware of USB camera and platform related with the project areanalyzed briefly in the fourth charpter. In the following two charpters, the USB devicedriver programe and displaying application program on Qt GUI are designed, incluingupdating Qt GUI, adding the function of usb mouse to the PXA255 platform,customing the file system, and rebuilding the kernel file. In the last charpter, thewhole hardware video system integrated with compiled device driver and displayingapplication program are tested successfully. Finally the experiment results areanalyzed and the research targets are mentioned based on current project.
