Optical fiber network provides a good platform for services transmission of television, telecommunication and internet, with the advantages of ultrahigh bandwidth and ultralow loss. However, extension of the optical network scale together with the incessant increment of the service types and traffic, especially the soar of image, real-time video and streaming media, have put huge pressure on the optical network, that makes congestion in network increasingly seriously. With the development of technology, the algorithms and protocols proposed to control the congestion and improve resource utilization efficiency are becoming the hot topics in optical network research.This thesis focuses on the business congestion situation of the optical network in the future, deeply analyses and simulates the optical fiber link congestion control and increasing resource utilization rate in physical layer of optical network. The achievements of this thesis are as follows:(1) Propose the WDS-PON, which could be realized by the storage and sharing of the business the users need in the scale of OLT, with adding a storage and the information function to the OLT to compose OLTE, reducing the links between users and servers far end, and the congestion in the network.(2) This thesis models and simulates the logical topology structure of WDS-PON by complex network analysis method, and the experiment shows that, comparing to the original optical network topology structure scale-free network model, the average shortest path length and the clustering coefficient of the WDS-PON is smaller, and the degree distribution is flat. The results in theory prove the WDS-PON could improve the resource balance utilization, relieve pressure and reduce the congestion in the optical backbone and metropolitan area networks.(3) Establish and simulate the WDS-PON based on the theory of the network structure above, and transport the text information of network in the simulation, which all prove the feasibility of the WDS-PON used in the practical application.
