The modern machine manufacture system, Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP) is the link of product design and the workshop production, and the bridge of joining the CAD and the CAM. This thesis discusses the fundamental conceptions, principles, classification, actualities and development trends of CAPP in detail. This thesis is based on practical production, face to the production environment, with the most base and actual need of the enterprises, detailed analysis and study the process data founding, and the parts information describing and obtaining, the creating manner about process and its drawing, the process document outputting etc., bring up the research way about practical CAPP which is based on the technique in database and group technology, using variant method. This subject proposed the overall plan of the engine part CAPP system which was based on the database and completed the corresponding overall frame and the systematic host from this the construction controls the module, the components characteristic design module, the craft database handling module, the craft decision-making module and the technological document processing module and so on the main function module. Meanwhile, this paper has analyzed the CAPP system's construction of data characteristic, We has carried on the research in the data model and the database construct method, also we proposed the open style database structure design pattern. This system used the Microsoft Access to establish database. Simultaneously according to the system function request, we has constructed some easy databases for system. Based on the system's advancement and relevance of the system, this subject has classified the turbine parts in accordance with the code rules, and then the product databases and templates, to completed development process Turbine Company LTED plans automatically generating system. In the course of the study, With the group and classification and coding techniques , the data were analyzed and summarized and included into the ACCESS database. Combined with the VB language and EXCEL AUTOCAD complete system framework and functions of the filling. Eventually create CAPP system on Turbine Diaphragm,and it provides the interface and experience for other parts automatic process planning system.CAPP (computer aided process planning, computer-aided process planning) is to use a computer for processing parts of the development process, the rough machining into engineering drawings of parts required. It is to be processed through the computer input part of the geometric information (shape, size, etc.) and process information (material, heat treatment, batch, etc.), automatically by a computer output part of the process route and process content, process documentation process.In fact a number of commonly used abroad, such as manufacturing planning (manufacturing planning), material handling (material processing), process engineering (process engineering) and process routing (machine routing), etc. refers to a large extent the design process. Computer-aided process planning are areas of engineering analysis and design, production preparation work is an important one. The basic building blocks of CAPP system include: (1) control module.
