Research And Realization Of Dynamic Multi-application Smart Card

Since the birth in the late 60s of last century, the technology of smart card brings great advantages to our life and work, while it is applied widely to such fields as the finance, communication, traffic, medical care, etc. Dynamic multi-application card (DMAC) leads the trend of the development in smart card with personalized service requirements and the evolution of software and hardware technology. This technology can satisfy the demand that the cardholders can download, update and delete applications as own wish at any time in the course of card usage. As it makes the development of application more fast and convenient and reduces the cost of development, maintenance and usage, the technology of dynamic multi-application brings advantages to card issuer, application developer and cardholder, and can maximize the investment value of every party farthest.Chip operation system (COS) is a key factor of smart card. This article presents the COS architecture of DMAC system based on analysis of development status at home and abroad. Moreover, this article analyzes some key technologies of COS, such as hardware management, file management, application management, security management, virtual machine, firewall, etc.Virtual machine is a key for application to run on different platforms. This article presents the architecture of virtual machine based on principle of virtual machine and actual requirement of dynamic multi-application, and analyzes its framework, register, processor and MAOS Executable Language (MEL).Based on the above models and actual requirement and augmentability, this article presents a dynamic multi-application system management platform, and defines every party's identity and responsibility. In addition, this article presents an application management scheme, including application selection scheme, data access control scheme, download scheme, update scheme, delete scheme, etc.
