With the pervasive application of smart card, the smart card system based on embedded technology has gained tremendous momentum in various industries. Due to the low processor performance of current smart card system and inferior speed rate of ISO7816 interface, it is hard to achieve more advanced applications on current smart card, especially audio & video applications with great amount of data. Therefore, how to design the software architecture of smart card which is suitable for the audio & video operation has become a hot topic and is expected to be solved with great urgency.This thesis researched and analyzed the real-time operation, communication interface, memory management of smart card system. The main achievements are listed as follows:1. Memory Management in smart card :This thesis analyzed the memory management problem in the smart card system where memory is a very limited resource. Based on the general dynamic memory management method of embedded system, a new the memory callback method was raised to ensure general memory allocation and deletion, as well as memory callback of special card application.2. Communication Interface SD/MMC protocol: This thesis analyzed the theory of SD/MMC protocol, and made use of SD/MMC protocol into application. The card state transition and operation flow was analyzed. The protocol realization is divided into three layers: application layer, command layer and hardware abstract layer. The SD/MMC high-speed interface provided support for the realization of operation which requires great amount of data.3. Real-time Operation of smart card :By analyzing real-time operation system, especially research on task scheduling and timing characteristic of the interface, we realized the real-time operation of smart card with multiple tasks.This thesis investigated the real-time operation of smart card mainly, put forward an effective universal scheme to manage multiple tasks and memory in smart card and realized the SD/MMC protocol . Moreover, this thesis put this scheme into application, designed and realized a project: The Smart Card System With SD/MMC high-speed Interface on the ARM processor.
