With continuously accelerated development of the Informatization Construction for China's military communication equipment and increasingly improved civil-military integration maintenance support system, military communications equipments are going through great changes. The corresponding and affiliate products are also in innovation because of their enhanced function and performance. As one of the critical equipment to production guarantee and after-sales maintenance, Automatic Test System (ATS) for Military radio becomes an important part of the military communication equipment.The subject developed a specialized automatic test system for the Control module of a certain type airborne radio, on the basis of research of the advanced automatic test technology in domestic and international, and designed an overall hardware and software of the automatic test system, according to the analysis of the demand on Control module. The hardware designed accordance with the intelligent computer and General Purpose Interface Bus (GPIB) standards. To achieve automatic testing purpose, the hardware design sends control commands through the data interaction between the GPIB interface bus and Test Unit Adapter (TUA), which connected the testing instruments and the Unit Under Test (UUT). According to modular thought, the software designed the man-machine interface in the system program, under the traditional development environment Visual Basic 6.0 programming software, to help tester to complete the communication, control, test and data storage and system help work.This automatic test system has began being applied in practical production and after-sales maintenance. Its intelligent control, stability test, low cost efficient investment, will become military equipment production Manufacturer's important choice. And it will lead the development of the military equipment test system toward more intelligent, high efficiency, stable, and convenient direction.
