With the development of modern science and technology, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle becomes more complicated than ever. Wholly test of UAV before flying must be needed to ensure its secure and reliable flying. The portable Automatic Test System is proposed for such requirement. As one of the important part of ATS, the communication interface unit can complete the function of serial communication.The research and design of the communication interface unit for ATS is mainly described in this dissertation. As CAN bus features in reliability, real time and flexibility, this system is based on CAN bus network and easily developing and upgrading with its distributed architecture.Firstly, the paper establishes the system structure by the design objective of the communication interface unit. And it also points out the key techniques for researching.Secondly, the paper researches the techniques of CAN bus redundancy switching and in system programming. The CAN bus of this system works in double-channel wholly redundancy mode, and the techniques of fault self-testing and dynamic reconfiguration are used to switch the CAN channel. The ISP works in serial programming mode, and it also introduce the cyclical redundancy check to improve the reliability of serial communication.And then, the paper details design the hardware and software of the communication interface unit base on the system structure and the key techniques researching.At last, the paper tests the CAN bus communication, CAN bus redundancy, ISP of serial, multi-channel ARINC429 bus communication and UART communication, which shows the feasibility of system scheme.
