With the rapid development of micro-electronics technology and application of new technologies, new devices in radar, the complexity of the radar is increasing as the expansion of the radar function and automation level, which brings new challenges to the test of the circuit board, especially the test of the circuit board with microprocessor. Nowadays, the leading technology in this field is testing the circuit board under the Automatic Test System (ATS) by the intelligent fault diagnosis. Therefore, in order to improve the accuracy, speed and reliability of the radar system, it is necessary to study the method of the radar circuit board in automatic test system.In this paper, simulation test for the circuit board with microprocessor in radar is studied based on the idea of the strategy tree, the main work as follows:(1) Firstly, comparing with the advantages, disadvantages and the technical difficulties of specific realization of the four most commonly used methods of simulation test with microprocessor circuit board; Secondly, classifying microprocessor circuit boards and selecting the appropriate simulation test methods for different kinds of them; Finally, limiting fault model and analyzing the specific test methods of bus, memory, I/O chip.(2)After introducing the structure and application of the Radar automatic test system, a design plan of the Interface Configuration Adapter (ICA) is put forward, which is cost saving and helpful to Test Program Set (TPS) development. And putting forward a design plan of achieving processor simulation test by using high-speed digital IO to simulate the external timing of CPU according to the resources of the system platform, and it is feasible to be proved by the practice.(3)Taking the communication interface board for an example, the simulation test process of the board under the radar test system is described detailedly basing on the idea of test strategy tree in this paper. Firstly, formulating the appropriate strategies for fault diagnosis according to the working principle and structure of the communications interface board. Secondly, designing Interface Test Adapter (ITA) used for simulation test according to the test resources of automatic test system. At last, writing the Test Programs (TP) in software development platform of automatic test system to realize the automatic test of circuit board.The test result shows that the simulation test method can effectively, fast detect the most common faults of the microprocessor circuit board. Therefore, it resolves the issue that the test of the microprocessor circuit board is difficult. At last, summarizing the specific work and proposing the problems in this paper and prospects for future study.
