Simulation resources whose core is models are special knowledge resources: on the one hand they are integrated by lots of knowledge systemically, and on the other hand can be used to generate new information and knowledge purposefully. With the development of simulation techniques, simulation objects are more and more complex. How to improve the reuse and satisfy the requirements from kinds of application domains are crucial points for recent and future domain simulation researches. Synthetic Simulation Integrated Environment (SSIE) provides a technical support platform to classify, sort, extract, and integrate simulation which can combine computational model, domain knowledge and expert involvement harmoniously by using various techniques synthetically, and can satisfy the special demands of simulation application system by integrating simulation resources, programming simulation tasks and arranging simulation resources systematically.This paper is based on remote sensing satellite simulation which is supported by"863"Chinese National Program for High Technology Research and Development, and focuses on resource description, resource organization, resource scheduling, and other key techniques of resource management in SSIE. The main contents are arranged as below:Firstly, a basic framework of SSIE is designed. The function of each module in the framework and the classification and characteristics of resource in SSIE is described. Secondly, after summarizing the characteristics of simulation resources, management methods of simulation resource is studied. Referred to the characteristics of Mobile Agent, Synthetic Simulation Integrated Environment Resource Management (SSIERM) which is based on "Integrated Environment Agent" is designed. The key function of each composition in SSIERM is specified and defined. Based on that, the workflow logic of SSIE is designed. Thirdly, the key techniques of SSIERM are studied thoroughly. According to features of resource in SSIE, some SRML elements are retained and elements system of SRML is extended to form XSRML which is used to describe resources in the environment. In order to support the dynamics and heterogeneity of simulation resources, simulation resource library is organized as parallel management and distributed storage. Simulation tasks are distinguished according to the internal computing tasks between serial, parallel, or collaborative relationships, and scheduling strategies are varied with different task type.Finally, SSIERM is applied in the field of remote sensing satellite as illustration. The remote sensing satellite simulation system is designed and implemented, the key function modules of the system is discussed in detail, and its resource is managed by SSIERM. Based these researches, resource management of the remote sensing satellite simulation system has been used to the relevant issues in "863" program. The practical application indicates that it can meet resource management need to use SSIERM, and the simulation efficiency is improved better.
