Grid computing is a new generation Internet and a new kind of information infrastructure. It will be the third information technology revolution after Internet and WWW. Many countries are researching into Grid by making an big investment around the world. It can be said that the research and application of Grid just begin. Many theories about Grid are coming into being and some of them are immature. Especially, there are lack of theories and technologies about resource management of Grid . Resource management system is the foundation and core of grid. Because Grid is distributed, heterogeneous and dynamic, it is much more difficult to realize resource sharing in Grid than in traditional systems. Accordingly, it's more difficult to design Grid resource management system. One of the important function of resource management----research on resource finding is a important part of Grid. Nowadays, research of Grid resource management system includes two aspects, models and products. But it can't meet the requirement of Grid applications. It is difficult to ensure the efficiency in resource finding. So, research of resource management system and resource finding has much to do with the development of Grid. The following aspects will be focused on in this dissertation. In the first place, a Grid system organization model based on Virtual Organization is put forward. Second, according to before-mentioned model, a layered Grid resource management architectural model based on agent is put forward. The function of each layer is analyzed thoroughly. Third, a method of resource finding based on Mobile Agent is designed. It is compared with the method of resource finding in existence by theory and validated by experiment to some degree.
