Research Of Multi-dimensional Analysis Used In Managinging Junior Officers

Grassroots cadres in the army is the main body of the army management, how to get the information from panoramic or multi-dimensional analysis view effectively, and use it to support decision making or advice giving for establishing the policy of cadres, is an important issue facing for the manager of cadres currently. The current business process and the application environment constituted by data sources already can't meet this demand. In recent years, with the data warehouse, OLAP(On-line Analytical Processing) becoming mature and popular,it provides a good overall solution to analysis the military cadres by the use of existing system and documental information for the leadership.Based on the research of data warehouse technology and OLAP technology,this paper firstly analysed the state of art in grassroots cadres management , then pointed out the problems existing in the management and highlighted the causes of the problems, finally illustrated the data warehouse technology and OLAP technology which is an feasible technical way to overcome these problems. Through intuitive judgment by the experts and the Delphi method, this paper determined scientifically four analysis theme including the grassroots cadres basic information, training management and so on. In the design of multidimensional data model, it avoided possible problems for the functions can't meet the needs of the users or no data to support the system by combinating the user-driven and data-driven design.Combined with the department dimension, age dimension, position dimension and so on, this paper lay emphasis on dimension type and dimension levels. It used SSIS tools to realize the data extraction, conversion and loading, and generated a multi-dimensional cube of the cadre troop information theme by the OLAP engine provided by SQL SERVER 2005, finally the front-end tool can explore this multi-dimensional cube by graghical style.This paper firstly integrated the data warehouse, OLAP technology with military grassroots cadres management, and then designed grassroots cadres team management multi-dimensional analysis system based on current business management system, spreadsheets and document data. This system can meet the analysis needs of the manager of grassroots cadres,and realize military grassroots cadres management functionally and decision making scientifically.
