As the extension of scope of industrial production, traditional mechanical drilling and electrical discharge machining processing can no longer satisfy the request, which leads to the demand for laser drilling with higher technical indicators.Basic form of laser drilling includes replica method and profile roundabout method. Physical processes and drilling quality of two drilling methods are compared theoretically. In order to obtain micropore with high ratio of pit-depth to pit-diameter, rotary drilling strategy is used and three- wedge scanning optical system and optical path design are carried out. The basic parameters of three-wedge system are calculated and the optical design iscompleted.In order to study the characteristics of the optical system, ray tracing algorithm based on matrix operations for the dynamic optical systems was developed by introducing computer graphics method. The operations of geometric are converted to matrix calculation, this approach is extended to the basic analysis of the dynamic surface to find a feasible procedure. According to this algorithm, the characteristics of dual-wedge scanner are analyzed, analytical solution of focal points on the workpiece surface for the three wedge scanning optical system has been gained on this basis.Simulation of scan patterns is achieved due to the theoretical mentioned above, the algorithm experiments and theoretical results fits well to verify the feasibility of the algorithm with high precision and high efficiency. In the laser drilling experiments, by comparing the quality of punching and helical drilling on different materials, the advantages of rotary drilling program are proved.A complete optical system for laser drilling should include observation and detection system. To get a better hole quality, other processing techniques, such as blowing and surface pretreatment can also be supplemented. In addition, given the goal of continuous path, how to determine the parameters requires further study.
