CNC is the focus of current researches on Numerical Control System, and it isbased on PC which makes NC System easy to develop, use or maintain because of PC'sstandardization and compatibility. But PC platform also has disadvantages while usedfor building NC System, such as lack of consideration about the particularity of NCmachining, functional redundancy and waste of resources on both hardware andsoftware. Besides, the cost of CNC is hard to bring down due to its complex structureand high power consumption. Further more, in traditional Numerical Control System,the communication way between the numerical control device and the servo drive isusually analog or pulse, which bring about the low resolution, single-way transmission,interconnection complexity, and many other defects.In order to solve above problems, under National Science and Technology MajorProject, the author did the research on key technologies of Heterogeneous multi-coremicroprocessor based embedded NC System, which aims at achieving performance ashigh as the PC-based NC System at an acceptable cost. Meanwhile, High-speed fieldbus technology is brought in to enhance the performance and openness of EmbeddedNC System. The main contributions of dissertation are summarized as follows:1In view of the limitation of traditional communication way between numericalcontrol device and servo drive, the demand for fieldbus interface is proposed. In order tomeet the demands of hard realtime in NC System, Linux is transformed into a realtimeoperating system, of which the realtime performance is tested and evaluated. UsingGPMC interface, driver for SSB-III field bus is completed. Finally, jitters betweeninterrupt cycles of SSB-III field bus is tested.2Several key technologies for building Heterogeneous multi-core microprocessorbased Embedded NC system are analyzed, which include Demands of system functions,Architecture and Design of Hardware and Software, Communication mechanismbetween cores of multi-core processor, and etc. The design&implementation of theprototype system was given. Based on multi-core communication mechanism, driverported from ARM single core structure to ARM-DSP dul-core structure is illustrated.
