The entire reliability research is based on Andrew Corporation wind band cross polarization base station antenna vary tilt design and product which is an major antenna for current 3rd generation network antenna product; The study focused on structure design and materials, reliability prediction, module, calculate failure rate, MTBF, availability and ten years reliability; improved antenna reliability weak points according to completely qualification tests.Compared the Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) radome outdoor five years exposure performance with indoor ultraviolet (UV) weathering test, and same for mounting hardware corrosion test and analyzed the correlation of indoor and outdoor tests; analyzed and detected the key factors for impact antenna useful life and indicated the method for extended antenna lifetime. The results are the important database for improve similar designed antenna reliability, provided directions for material selection, improve design, quality control and the evidence for revise reliability test methods.Created a standardized base station antenna qualification test and analysis methods according to the whole reliability tests; compared the international and local test methods, especially sine sweep vibration of local standard and setup parameters need to revise.
