At present,we have entered the 5G era,compared with the past,we have a brand new network experience,which brings more convenience to our life.Base station antenna,as the main force of network coverage transmission,cannot be improved without the continuous evolution of base station antenna,it not only needs stable and good working characteristics of antenna,such as stable direction diagram,high polarization purity,but also requires low profile and miniaturization due to the current shortage of space resources.This paper begins with the development of base station antennas,and then introduces the research status of base station antennas at home and abroad according to the types of antennas,including cross electric dipole antenna,electromagnetic dipole antenna and artificial magnetic conductor surface(AMC)antenna.Finally,the radiation principle of electromagnetic dipole antenna,the working principle of artificial magnetic conductor surface and the product principle of antenna array are introduced respectively.The main work of this paper is to design dual-polarization base station antenna with low profile and stable working characteristics in sub-6GHz band,which meets the requirements of the current environment.The research contents of this paper include:Firstly,a low-profile dual-polarization electromagnetic dipole antenna is designed in the N77 frequency band,so that the short-circuit patch forming the magnetic dipole is tilted relative to the reflector plate,and the profile structure of the antenna is reduced while keeping the electric length of the magnetic dipole at half wavelength.Finally,the profile height of the antenna is 0.154?.After the electric dipole of the outer edge of 90°bend down,the formation of metal strips are perpendicular to the reflecting plate structure,and in its lower part assembly such as metal column spacing,used to enhance antenna cross polarization ratio and stable half power beam width,the antenna within plus or minus 60° sector cross polarization ratio greater than 13 d B,half power beam width between 65° ? 67°.Finally,the element is used to form a binary array on the vertical plane to obtain high gain.Secondly,based on the in-phase reflection characteristics of the surface of the artificial magnetic conductor,a low-profile double-polarization electric dipole antenna with a profile height of 0.11? is designed at the N66 frequency band by replacing the ideal electric conductor with the reflection plate of the directional antenna.In addition,metal strips are printed on the AMC surface layer to enhance the high-frequency crosspolarization ratio of the antenna to improve the radiation characteristics,so that the crosspolarization ratio of the antenna in the ±60° sector is greater than 9.8d B.Finally,the element is used to form a binary array on the vertical plane to obtain high gain.
