In recent years, more and more people favor the research of dual polarization antenna. Because of the small size and light weight, and the microstrip antenna can be conformal with the surrounding environment,So the traditional dual polarized antenna is usually realized by microstrip antenna.Printed dipole is a kind of microstrip antenna, which has the advantages of simple structure, convenient manufacture and easy up, So in this paper, we design a dual polarized antenna based on printed dipole.Based on the studies of the radiation mechanism of the printed dipole antenna and the matching principle of the antenna, a broadband printed dipole antenna is designed in this paper, which adopts a double-sided printing structure, the front of the dielectric substrate is a T type radiation patch, the back side is a microstrip feeder and a balun, and the printed dipole antenna is fed by an electric field coupling mode. To some extent,this method can expand the bandwidth of the antenna. After that, the balun is improved, and combining with loading complementary open resonator ring structure, the bandwidth of the printed dipole antenna is broadened by the simulation optimization. When the return loss is less than -10dB, the relative bandwidth is 56.1%.Based on the printed dipole antenna design work, with the theory of dual polarized antenna, the structure of single line polarization printed dipole is improved, and the two line cross polarization printed dipole positioned a broadband dual polarized antenna. When the return loss is less than -10dB, the relative bandwidth is 55.9%. The antenna has a stable pattern in the whole frequency band and the cross polarization is below -7dB.Finally, according to the relevant knowledge of the antenna array, four dual polarization elements are arranged in a certain order. The gain of the antenna in the maximum radiation direction is about 12.66dB, and the half power beam width is 80 degrees.
