RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), which is an emerging technology in the field of Information Technology, has being increasing in value day by day. The essence of logistics management is to improve the timeliness and accuracy of data collection in Business. RFID technology can achieve the timeliness of data collection because it enables the fast wireless exchange of data with low cost, thus becomes the expectation of efficiency in the field of logistics supply chain. However, the accuracy of data collection in RFID has not yet fully meets the expectation of the logistics system. Due to the fading effects of electromagnetic wave in space, together with the interference of environment, motion, the orientation sensitivity of tag and antenna, the problem of read rate has not been resolved. The reliability of data collected by the RFID system will determine the ROI of RFID applications for users. There are two methods to achieve RFID data collection: fixed RFID portal and handheld RFID readers, in which the fixed RFID portal data collection is the most challenging. The research of RFID logistics portal system is important to improve the RFID data acquisition rate.In this thesis, we take the needs of practical Logistics applications as the starting point and discuss number of issues related to the performance of RFID logistics portal systems, including the number of RFID antennas and location optimization, a number of factors impact the read rate. This thesis analyzes the RFID logistics portal systems to get the specific needs of it, and a series of experiments are designed accordingly to optimize the performance of RFID system. The greedy algorithm is introduced to the field of RFID, the RFID portal logistics antenna optimization software is designed, and appropriate number of antennas deployed and their corresponding position are obtained. With the range analysis and variance analysis, all eleven factors relative sequence and significant of affecting of the read rate are obtained. The mathematical relationship between the affecting actors and the read rate are got by fitting analysis. The results of our study provide a scientific RFID system optimization approach to the RFID logistics applications.First of all, the existing optimization techniques and methods in the RFID system has been analyzed, the research content and innovation in this thesis are proposed. The basis of experimental methods and the theory of antenna are introduced for follow-up reference. Second, we derive proper experiments for improving RFID system performance by analyzing the needs of practical RFID logistics portal system and the typical scenario of it, and the number of RFID antennas and location optimization experiment and a number of factors impact the read rate experiment have been designed. Weighing method is designed for the case of whether the labels are completely read. Then, the experimental platform is built and the experimental results are discussed, the RFID portal logistics antenna optimization software is designed and the verified experiments of the best matching factors have been implemented. At the end of the paper, we summarize the entire paper and propose some future works.
