Automobile industry has achieved great developments and strong support from the Chinese government and ever bullish demand. Auto Electronics, a dispensable part for the entire automobile industry, therefore has attracted increasingly more attention. It is especially the case for electronic information products uploading on automobiles. With the fast development of electronic information technology, traditional radio on automobiles has turned into an integrated system with navigation and entertainment. A multiple-functioning and networking trend is foreseeable for the system. So time has come for us to find an answer to how we can design an infotainment product that caters to the customers. The thesis explains in detail how to design an infotainment system in accordance with the demand of enterprises and the market, based on experience on such programs.The author has analyzed the background, the status and the future trend of infotainment system on automobiles. The article also conducts researches on the market demand and the functions and performances of the product. Conclusive analysis is achieved from real practices and case studies for user-interface, navigation, multimedia AV, voice UI, and reverse assist. The research makes good preparation for subsequent system design and development. With those premises above, the paper elaborates on mass devises from functions to hardware modules on the basis of dual-processor (vehicle interface processor (VIP) and application processor (AP)) hardware platform. And then, the article performs the analysis and design for the entire system software. And the article also defines the software distribution, architecture and communication interface between two processors. Enterprise self-developed RTOS is applied in VIP. And among embedded OS and GUI, Linux and Qt are chosen for AP. The design of software architecture on AP (using Linux), application and resource management mechanism are also implemented. In the meantime, detailed analysis is given to related functional modules, such as navigation, multimedia, radio, reverse assist and voice UI. For each module, the software structure, design strategy, sequence and flow are discussed and implemented. After that, it comes to a conclusion that the product is an embodiment of functionality, standard and market demand, after verifications via system tests, experiments and analysis. Finally, the article makes a conclustion for the entire system design, and analyzes the weakness and further design work for the system development.
