Design And Implementation Of The VOD System Based On Metropolitan Area Network

As the development of computer technology and network technology, more and more high-tech products been used in the manufacture and our life, include digital TV. In China Digital TV started later than other counties, but the achievements of development is obvious. With the improvement of computer network and the promotion of digital cable TV, Digital TV is more and more familiar to the general public because of the way of viewing and transmission. The high-definition pictures and the stereo are the two major advantages for digital TV, and more widely chioce is also another reason to attract peaple. Digital TV in China is still a new thing. And still need to be improved. In order to meet user's requirement, this thesis is about how to build a digital TV on-demand system base on the Metropolitan Area Network.In order to meet user's requirement, the MAN-based VOD system was designed and achieved. The network environment and its capacity was analyzed,which is the basis to achieve the system. After the VOD system was analyzed, the modle that the central management server was used to control the whole system, the sub-server was used to transport the data of the programme and the terminal is used to send the demand requirement was designed. And the whole system was divided into some small part. There are the programme list modules, the state feedback module, dispatcher programme module and database module. Through the analysis of the system's process, the data transfer map about the client terminal, the central management server and the sub-server was drawn. While achieving the RTSP protocol make programme streaming data transport from the sub-server to the client terminal comes true. Finally, a simple environment was built for test. And the test results is the same with expectations, So the system achieve the basic functions, and also the whole system comes true.
