With the growing demand for storage of data, the needs of the standards of continuous usability for usrs also improving. Therefore, how to fast and effective protect and restore data, has become the hotspot of information storage present. one of the core function of Data backup is the realization of data of uninterrupted usability. And continuous data protection(CDP) is the effective ways to realize the requirement and prevent loss of data. continuous data protection(CDP) is a method that can independently capture major data continuously or track data modification, and preserve change from the past, so as to achieve any non preset point recovery method. Its characteristic is to the protection of data is continuity and can recover quickly. At present, CDP technique has been widely used in storage industry data protection. As the traditional data protection scheme has shortcomings that are time consuming, low efficiency, and consume large network resources, this paper puts forward a method of virtual recovery for continuous data protection. This method add a layer of volume driver between the server virtual file system driver layering and the volume management driver layering, to realize their reading and writing data method ,taking over the client data request commands and use a data mapping mechanism to make multiple files data collection appears as a single logical volumes, so the user can quickly get a virtual volume that the state is is completely consistent as the recovery time point state, to achieve the instant restore requirements.By comparing this scheme with the physical recovery, virtual recovery scheme can greatly improve the recovery efficiency, especially the case of large data protection.
