With the development of computer and electron technology, Electronic Line-Shafting becomes mature. With its good performance, Electronic Line-Shafting is widely used in printing machine equipment. However, there are still some problems that restrict the increasing of the printing quality. Plant's mathematic model is unknown, mechanical behavior is hard to evaluate, all of these problems need to be solved. Moreover, some old printing control computers are still using MS-DOS as their operation systems, without a TCP/IP network communication module, which is an obstacle to remote monitoring and diagnosis. Therefore, the research of these problems is meaningful. In this thesis, the author first describes how the printing system works. The mathematic model of tension system is analyzed, and then the principles of the register system are introduced. An experimental printing system is configured, and an frequency domain evaluation method of system mechanical behavior is presented. After that, an approximate FOPTD (first-order plus time delay) module is proposed through system parameter identification using input-output data. To enhance network communication function of control computers which are still using MS-DOS, a communication module is developed based on network interface packet driver. With the TCP/IP protocol and MODBUS/TCP specification, remote monitoring and diagnosis are available for MS-DOS system.
