The 21st century is the Internet age. People's production and life are beginning to beinseparable from the network; computer technology has become a powerful force of futuredevelopment. That leads us to break the old ideas and habits and innovate constantly. only inthis way will our society continue to move forward. Meanwhile, government Office modelshould adapt to the development trend of the times. Traditional mode of government officescould no longer meet the needs of social development, more and more social problems haveemerged and artificial office mode obviously could not keep up with the pace of the Internetage. Therefore, the author will analyze and study the development process and lessons of U.S.e-government under such a large enviroment. E-government construction has been included inChina's "the Twelfth Five-Year Plan" Program, China's emphasis on e-government has beenelevated to the national future development strategy.The paper begins with the brief introduction of the background, purpose and meaning ofthe subject. After the elaboration on the connotation and features of e-Government ande-Government, this paper also make a comparative analysis with each other. Firstly the papersummarizes the development process, application performance and study characteristics of theU.S. e-government, and summarizes the study status of U.S. e-government, On this basis, itfinds out the successful experiences in the development of U.S e-government. Secondly itanalyzes the development process of our country's e-government, finds out the problems inthe development process , summarizes the scholars'theoretical analysis of our country'se-government present situation and summarizes the development trend of the e-government inChina during " the Twelfth Five-Year Plan ".Finally, the author refers to the United States successful experience of e-governmentdevelopment and combines the existing national conditions in China to put forward severalsuggestions and comments for the future of e-government development in China.
