With the development and prosperity of China's tourist industry, a variety of traveling television programs are emerging. Despite the fact that it hits a great business success via synchronizing traveling television program production and the tourist-district development, a careful review from the humanistic level of it would reveal that the success in business operation is attributable to the lack of humanistic concern in the traveling television program production. That is, with China's burgeoning development of traveling television program industry, its commercial value, rather than the humanistic concern underlying has been mostly emphasized. If such negligence evolves as it does, there will be unsatisfactory trends for the traveling television program industry to appear; not to mention the fact that such trends have too often been ignored by the audiences. The goal of this paper is to give a general review of the status of China's television traveling program industry, and to cast some criticism from the culturological level:how does the information media work to formulate the relationship between people and spatial dimension, which results in the lack of reflection on the spatial dimension of traveling television programs, and the lack of pursuit of freedom and the tourist adventurous explorations. It is under this premise that the current study launches.In order to probe into this question, the article creatively raises a new concept of "the spatial production" to the television phantom media. "phantom space production" in this article refers to the entire production process in which tourist capitals dominate, audiences' conscious imagination space is manufactured, and new product with commercial value is created. In other words, the phantom space production for traveling television programs is a process that creates added value for the target geological space, through the dissemination of traveling phantom information. In the current study, the author will adopt literature review, sample analysis, and interdisciplinary analysis as the primary methodology. The topic of phantom space production for traveling television program will be discussed from several aspects such as the mechanism of traveling phantom space production, the cultural effects of phantom space production for traveling television programs, as well as the strategic development of China's traveling television programs from the perspective of phantom space production. Through clarifying the concept of "phantom space production", pointing out the existing problems of traveling television program industry, and promoting a new ideal of "the life unites" and "the new naturalism", the article attempts to contribute to the China's traveling television programs'production industry and the pursuit in cultural value system. Moreover, it calls for proper adjustments to the imperfectness of the production concept, that is, to break away from the absolute control of tourist capitals, and to seek for development in both freedom and diversity of the traveling television program industry.
