With increasing competition of market, product is desired to quickly response to market demand. Reverse Engineering Modeling technique is widely researched and application. Combined with complex mechanical parts feature, the thorough study of Reverse Engineering Modeling based on industrial CT images will be included in this paper.The main work in this paper as follows:Propose the framework of this paper, and define the workflow and key-points of Reverse engineering modeling based on industrial CT images.Research the structural features of complex mechanical parts, propose a Reverse engineering modeling method for mechanical parts based on industrial CT images. And it makes detailed description about the industrial CT images feature, compared with laser scanner and three-coordinate measuring machine, analyse the peculiar data property of CT. And then propose reverse engineering modeling technique.Based on the property of CT data, employ the curvature-related method to analyse the industrial CT data, and find out the existing problem. Combined with wavelet multi-scale theory, research the multi-scale property of the data, propose a auto-adaptive approach to find data points. This method effectively avoids the conflict between number of data points and feature complete. And examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.Study the cause of self-intersection when free curve reconstruction, analyse the relationship between data points and control points of cubic B-spline curve, research on the connection of control polygon self-intersection and cubic B-spline curve self-intersection, present a way to avoid curve self-intersection by assure control polygon without self-intersection.Based on above study, design reverse engineering modeling system for industrial CT. Image processing module, contour extraction module, profile fit module and edit module are included in this system.Employ the profile fit result of two dimension slice, discuss complex surface reconstruction method by binary cubic B-spline approximation. At the same time, some kinds of surface blending way are introduced.
