With the development of image acquisition and processing technology,in the control system, More and more applications of the technology. The information provided by digital image is image, realistic,and accurate, however, the data is mass. Therefore, digital image storage and transmission become the bottleneck. In the course of the study related items found:in addition to useful information outside the Mass data, there are still a lot of re-dundancy, that "non-interest area." Useful information is necessary to lossless transmission, the redundant part of the compressible transmission.This paper studies the real-time image compression and storage technology, extraction and Collection contains images, Image compression standard, Image storage.The paper uses JPEG 2000 compression standard for image compression by wavelet transform, Verilog language by using the FPGA to achieve; Image via IDE interface hard disk storage; Completed by Quartus II simulation software platform. The results show that:to achieve "non-interest area" image compression and storage, can remove redundant, reduce the amount of data transfer, increase the transmission speed.
