For constructing a harmonious society with sustainable development,China has put energy saving as a basic national policy. Government has put much attention on the smart grid, which is the key factor in promoting low carbon economy. National "Twelve Five-Year" energy plan has regarded the smart grid as the important development goal. Data acquire terminal of special transformer is the significant part of the power user electric energy data real-time acquisition system, acting as a significant component of the smart grid.This paper introduces an embedded designed data acquire terminal of special transformer system based on ARM9 and Linux. System designed are divided into two parts according with Shandong Q/GDW376.1 criterion,after analyzing of requirements for the specific system. One is building the hardware platform insisted upon freecale i.MX28. In this part, the design of the storage system, the communication system and machine interface is the main job. The other is constructing the software system according to the application requirements, which should be coincided with the hardware design in the light of the embedded development processes. In this part, the main work is building the embedded development platform; making the linux system; designing the driver; realizing the functions according to the requirements of the system. Through the moduler application-layer design, this paper accomplishs the necessary tasks such as the meter reading, data communication, system safeguard, displaying. Through system verification, the paper fulfill the system preliminary function which can acquire data from the electric energy meter, handle the data, store the data and executive control according the data value.Generally, this paper provided a kind of the structure of platform based on Linux instead of the front-background mode. It not only realizes the development of the embedded designed data acquire terminal of special transformer system, but also makes it convenient for future maintenance and upgrade.
