Based on Development Plan of State Grid Corporation of China, it points that Chinese smart power grids information collection system needs to have full recovery on the whole power sites, carry out real-time collection and processing on user electrical energy state (voltage, electric quantity, load, etc) by utilizing advanced metering equipment, transmit it to other relevant power application systems accurately in time, and assist the power enterprises to complete various management and operation decisions. However, as China has wide territory, complicated terrain and ever-changing application scenes, it needs various information technology to coordinate and adapt to various application scenes, and finally reach the accessing effect of integration and complementation, which is called as multimedia communication; wherein local communication channel always adopts power line carrier and RS485 communication mode. However, for some areas where it is difficult for wiring, it is difficult to realize the aim of user power information collection by this mode.Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) technology has the advantages of flexible networking, convenient moving, suitable implanted installation and convenient implanting to electric energy meter, suitableness to the area with concentrated electric energy meter positions and large change in power load characters, and compensation of the disadvantages of current local communication mode. Based on that, the paper analyzes the demands and components of Chinese smart power grids information collection system, and compares the remote channel with local channel in the aspects of applicable environment and characters. It studies the communication mode and the networking proposal of Chinese smart power grids information collection system, analyzes the master station system, channel, electric energy meter configuration and collected data object; based on it, it studies the power information collection system on account of WSN, carries out the proposal design on system logics and physical structure, completes the design on the master station function of the power information collection system for the low-voltage users and advances a kind of WSN route optimization algorithm facing the power information collection system.
