Design And Implementation Of The Web-based Campus Network Performance Measurement And Analysis System

With the rapid development of Internet, campus network also has been developed very well and become more and more important for all aspects in the school. At the same time, with the depletion of the global IPv4 address, many universities are developing IPv6 and making a transfer from IPv4 to Ipv6. It enables people to a better understanding and utilization of the network, a better managing network through the measurement and analysis of the network performance. The design of NMAS (Network Measurement and Analysis System) can meet the needs of a growing number of Internet measurement, optimizing Internet network performance, improve the management level of the network managers. The construction of the network measurement and analysis system is very important to improve the network behavior and understand the network rule, design the network reasonably, optimize the network configuration and performance, increase network utilization and improve the level of the network management.With the construction of the campus network of Shandong University, this thesis designs and implements a Dual Stack distributed network measurement and analysis system. It can run and manage a variety of network measurement tools to complete the work of network performance measurement and analysis of the data in order to play the network function, control the network and improve the network performance much better. The establishment of this system provides a scientific campus network management scheme and also the tool for modern management.This thesis introduces the performance measurement and analysis of the campus network, including the campus network, Internet Protocol, network measurement indicators and targets, and network measurement architecture, etc. Then it introduces the design and implementation of the system, including system design process, implementation method, important code, etc. Finally, some network performance measurement and analysis experiments between different campus network of Shandong University is provided.
