| Optical grid is a new technology today. Taking the advantage of optical switching and intelligent transmission system, optical grid integrates with other types of grid resources in order to provide dynamic and managable distributed storage, distributed transmission and distributed processing grid service and infrastructures to users. Consequently the network has the high-speed and large-bandwidth interconnection's capacity. It is becoming a focused issue, and many related research projects have been developed.There are still many problems related with the optical grid, such as: how to support the bandwidth needs of the users, how to support different types, multi-granularity, and bursting bandwidth reqirements, how to allocate the bandwidth on demand, how to establish the channel faster and more flexibly and how to abstract and encapsulate the optical network resource,etc. The architecture of optical grid has not been defined, and needs to be standardized in further.In the article, these problems are discussed: how to build the customized lightpath, the user how to control the resource of the optical grid and so on.This paper, firstly, inroduces the content and characteristics of the grid, presents the application prospect and the key issues of the optical grid simply, analyze the its architecture and researach progress. Secondly, designs a new optical grid service----user-defined lightpath system. The service has been designed as a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) where Web Services are the basic building blocks. Depending on the needs of the users'services, the users can bind all the network resources together in order to customize a suitable network topology and create their own applications on their networks. The article focuses on the design of the XC equipment-WS,supplies a detailed description of the internal modules of the web service, provides four types of the standard web service interfaces: query, establish, delete and modify. And it also designs the graphical user interface (GUI). Finally, a simulation test has realized the connection's resource consumption, and verified the validity of the web service. This thesis is a preliminary exploration of optical grid, and gives some help for the research of optical grid in future. |
