Research On QoE In Distance Learning System

With the development of the multimedia services, the evaluation of multimedia services'performance is getting more and more important. The quality of multimedia services affects the users'perception directly. So how to effectively monitor and improve the users'quality of experience (QoE) about multimedia services is an urgent topic to research. The major function of distance learning system is realizing multimedia information transmission, and it is a typical application of multimedia services. Therefore, the paper researches on QoE in distance learning system combining with its particularity.Firstly, some key technologies about distance learning system and QoE were reviewed. Based on analysis and comparison of current QoE monitoring methods, the paper designs the QoE monitor model of distance learning system considering the characteristics of distance learning system, and discusses its principle. It includes QoE monitor module based on users and QoE control module based on network management. QoE monitor module based on users calculates QoE through analyzing users'facial pose information in learning process, and forwards the results to QoE control module based on network management according to a certain period. When QoE control module based on network management detects the users'quality of experience below QoE optimization threshold, it takes corresponding QoE optimization strategies to improve users'quality of experience.Secondly, the paper discusses the principle of QoE monitor module and control module respectively. The QoE monitor module based on users uses face detection and recognition technologies to process, analyze users'facial pose information in learning and calculates the QoE values. This article implements the QoE monitor module based on users through matlab simulation software, and analyzes and verifies the system performance through experiments. The QoE control module based on network management improves users'quality of experience by taking certain QoE optimization strategies to improve backbone network performance. It takes certain QoE optimization strategies according to the weighting factors of network key performance indicator. The article analyzes the influence on QoE of different key performance indicator through experiments.Finally, In order to validate the feasibility and rationality of QoE monitor model, it verifies the feasibility of system through experiments. It describes the experimental process and several key issues, and also analyzes the experimental results.
