In the emergency and special communication services such as disaster relief, newsinterviews, scientific research expedition, police and military. Portable satellite communicationearth station system, which requires a low quality working environment and performs highreliability ,short response time, flexibility network . The system is responding rapidly and settingup a satellite link within few minutes to remote data transmission and real-time video broadcast,so it is more and more widely used.As portable satellite communication earth station system tracking principle is capturesatellite beacon signal by Beacon receiver ,and down-conversion, then detects with the beaconsignal to the DC voltage and sends to the servo control system, completes the antenna satellitetracking. Now Beacon receiver always bases on analog technology and receives universal beaconsignal for the front end of the mixing process or the back end of the track. It can only be detectedpre-test the size of the beacon signal level, but can not identify the high level detect whether thebeacon signal from the target satellite or other signals,so it easily lead to the wrong receiving forsatellite tracking.The research topic of this thesis is in portable satellite communication earth stationapplications as background, and the existing base commonly beacon receiver used in automatictracking, so in the practical application of the process in a certain probability of error tracking, ithas a huge impact which requires real time and high reliability of emergency communications. Inlarge numbers of experiments ,it appears some tracking errors which based on existing beaconreceiver. We detail analysis, concluding several reasons for tracking error, and proposingimplementation of digital beacon receiver solutions. After more than one years of research, wesuccessfully develop digital beacon receiver,which has spectrum analysis, and use on portablesatellite communication earth station system. Through practical applications and a large numberof experiments, it can improve tracking system reliability.
