With the development of the satellite communication earth station, the function of the satellite earth station is more and more rich, the Kinds of the equipment for the station is more and more, the satellite earth station system has become increasingly complex. A good monitoring system which can effectively complete equipment monitoring, alarm, control and management is very important for the efficient work of the satellite earth station.The topic of this dissertation comes from the engineering tasks. In this paper, based on economy, maturity and reliability, modularity of the basic design principles, we completed the satellite earth station monitoring system design and implementation. The main work is as follows:1.Based on the equipment composition and functional requirements for the satellite earth station, the paper analyzes the relationship between signal and the function of the monitoring system. And then, the design of hardware framework and Software modules were completed. Finally, we have carried on the design and forecast to system of electromagnetic compatibility reliability, and maintainability.2.Considering all the environment requirements of the system, which are volume, quality, reliability, maintainability and electromagnetic compatibility, the structure layout design of the monitoring system was presented, the core hardware with PC104 bus structure were selected.3.From the aspects of software, firstly the operating system which is characterized by the advantages of small footprint, fast startup, supporting disk write protection function, the local data safe and reliable for monitoring system is tailored with the Windows XP Embedded. Secondly, the method of modular design is used. According to software development process, this paper carried out software requirements analysis the functional and interface requirements about the monitor system. Thirdly, we have completed detailed design of the man-machine interface and the real-time monitoring about the monitoring software. The operation function of the keyboard and real-time processing of the date can be completed by the software on the man-machine interface part. The real-time control function, data communication, data processing can be completed by the software on the real-timecontrol part. In this paper, data communications is the monitoring system and each of equipments for data exchange; Data processing includes communication with various equipment of data transformation, frequency switching and coordinate transformation.4.The function of the monitoring system was tested by the black box method. First of all, we have completed the conformance testing of the man-computer boundary value and the equipments status values, which include the antenna servo azimuth, pitching, polarization Angle value, tracking receiver voltage of Azimuth offset, voltage of elevation offset, voltage of Automatic Gain control, television receiver frequency, symbol rate, error correction method, power amplifier power value. And then, the antenna works, tracking receiver, receiver, amplifier, modem working state monitoring test, and the equipment fault display and alarm function were tested by the same way. Tested the dual-band switching function with each other. Test results show that the design meets the requirements, the system work stable and reliable. This design has been passed the third party software evaluation.
