Optical burst switching (OBS) is considered to be the preferred technology in the next generation optical internet. It has a good value of theoretical research and practical application that how access network represented by PON cooperating with OBS in order to achieving the IP data signals through optical channel form end to end with high-quality.While,traditional interconnection will cause many issues, such as an overlapping of functions , larger delay and so on. To solve these problems, discussing a flat and simple interconnect network becomes one of the hotpots in the telecommunication network. This paper focuses on an interconnection of PON and OBS based on an integrated node. It researches the structures and functions of the node. And then considers the function of OLT and the OBS edge node, adding exchange control information. The paper describes the function of the node from the physical, control and management layer. Then the structure is designed. The flow of information between different interfaces is given.Burst aggregation mechanism and dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm are the key technology of network interconnection. This paper discusses a dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm which supports the three-grade assembly mechanisms and ensures the QoS. And then the structure of the ONU based on the burst aggregation mechanism is analyzed. Finally, modeling and simulation on the proposed interconnection technology is done with OPNET software. Results show that the integrated node as an interconnection interface of PON and OBS network is feasible. Moveover, with the three-grade assembly mechanisms, the business latency can be reduced significantly and the QoS of end to end can be guaranteed.
