In recent years, multi-media video businesses have been applied widely. However, because of the huge multi-media video data, limited bandwidth and the "best-effort" service quality of the Internet , the quality of service(QoS) of the video real-time transmission is hard to meet the users'needs. In order to get better QoS in the video applications , this paper designed and implemented the H.264 video real-time transmission system which bases on RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol)。Before the design and implementation of this system, this paper firstly studied the video coding technology and made the analysis by contrast, the result shows that H.264 standard has a higher compression efficiency and better network compatibility, so this paper adopted H.264 video data as the object that transmited by Internet; then, this paper introduced the RTP/RTCP protocols that used widely in streaming media applications and the encapsulation technology of H.264 data; next, the paper gave the introduction of congestion control technology that used in current real-time transmission applications , and pointed out the shortages of the traditional congestion control algorithm in the immediate transmission applications; In the end, this paper designed an improved congestion control algorithm which named NFCA(New Feed-back Control Algorithm).Based on the above theories, this paper carried out the prototype system. This system is mainly consisted by server and client. According to the client's feed-back and the the improved NFCA algorithm, server changed the transmission speed dynamically. This paper gave the design of the whole system architecture and the design of module, it also elaborated the key technology, work- flow and the core data structure that used in each module.The experimental results showed that this system can work reliably and efficiently , and it has a greate promotion in the vedio immediate transmission QoS.
