Along with the networking technology of inosculating voice, data and video information is developing as well as the Internet application unceasing popularization, the long-distance teaching (Teaching and Learning at Distance) has obtained the unprecedented development, the distance learning is marching into the society rapidly.At same time,it has become one of important educational institution's manners. The distance teaching's most major character are long-distance and interaction. Although our country's network education has developed many years, the interaction of the system is not very good. answering questions on the net, online discussion are mainly done by text and picture primarily.As the high tech, the using of video is quite few, even if some net academy are using video, many of them are non-real-time selection and broadcast.When we try to construct face-to-face in the distance teaching, the technical problem is that how to achieve the direct seeding function by sound and video in WAN. This article is about designing and developing a direct seeding server software in audio and video broadcast distance learning system, which enables it to be possible that students can be taught by teacher instantaneously and interacting with teacher in the long-distance teaching process. At first, this article elaborated the distance teaching system's history, the present situation as well as the background, the goal and the significance of the direct seeding server software's development and research, then introduced the technology concerned with this article--streaming media's technologic principle, the P2P technology and so on. Afterwards, this article elaborated the system process, the basic design concept and the designing process of the program module,including how to divide the system modules, how to define the interface between various modules, as well as the information's transmission between the module, material design of data's construction, modular structure and the information standard of the connection/transmission between system and client side. Finally there are the summary and the forecast. According to the audio and video broadcast distance teaching system's overall demand, after this system being completed, it may achieve two major functions:Sound and image's broadcast, server and client side's interaction (the interaction between teacher and student) and three ways of broadcasting by sound and image:Gathering the camera, catching the screen, broadcasting PPT.
