After the mainframe computing, desktop computing, the new computing model of pervasive computing is coming. The researchers hope that in this mode, anyone can get any services they need at anytime in anywhere. Study of service discovery is particularly important to achieve this goal successfully. This paper analyses several service discovery protocols that current technology is relatively mature, such as UPnP, Salutation, Jini, SLP and Bluetooth, and combined with the features of pervasive environment proposed the inadequacy of these protocols and technologies. For these inadequacy and the requirements of pervasive computing, combined with semantic web technology, this paper proposes pervasive service discovery strategy based on semantic.Service discovery strategy described in this paper includes service description, service matchmaking and service selection. For the existing service discovery protocol, its recall rate is low, because it support syntax-level service discovery only. This paper uses semantic description language OWL describe service, so it has the characteristics of syntax and semantics, service providers and service requesters use the same service description ontology, to eliminate the ambiguity of the service description and improve the recall rate and precision. As a result of using semantic technologies to describe the service, so this paper also use semantic strategy match the service. To provide seamless active service to users and service that match the descriptions after service matchmaking, this paper abandons the traditional method of artificial selection and chooses the best services according to QoS, with a combination of service QoS attributes. It is different from other selection strategies based on QoS, this paper relies on semantic technology describes the QoS of service, which constructs the QoS ontology of pervasive service discovery.This paper proposes service discovery strategy, which includes three processes, service description, service matchmaking and service selection. They are use OWL as the semantic description language. Descriptions of the service were added on the semantic, and construction of the QoS ontology, service matchmaking algorithm also relies on the semantic technology. After studying of these technologies, this paper designs pervasive service discovery system based on semantic, this system, based on semantic, realizes the function of service description, service publishing, service matchmaking and service selection. System considers the semantic information of service, at the same time, interaction between the users is carried out on the semantic level. Comparing with other service discovery system, it improves the recall rate and precision, and provides automatic service selection, as much as possible to provide a seamless service for users.
