With the advance of pervasive computing, more and more pervasive computing devices which provide versatile service functions have been brought forth in our working and living environment. A major challenge in pervasive computing is how to integrate all these provided services effectively and meaningfully to form novel service composition applications.Within many present service Composition frameworks such as UPnP, JINI, OSGi and etc. the service descriptions contain the syntax information but the semantic one. Besides the centralized and point to point way of service managements are unsuitable for the context-aware service Composition applications in the pervasive environment. Furthermore the present service Composition frameworks are unable to support the dynamic service re-composition in the pervasive environment. The service composition efficiency of former two approaches is far from satisfactory.Base on the related research in semantic Web service, we propose a hierarchical semantic web service Composition framework, HiSC which utilizes OWL-S as the service description specification. After that focusing the service matching issue in the service Composition framework, this paper proposes a Web service matching algorithm used in HiSC among which a method to calculate the service similarity based on semantic distance is introduced to get a fine granularity matching result other than simply true or false which are the only two result in former approaches. Additionally OWL-S description is extended in this paper to model a context-aware service based on which the implementation of dynamic service re-composition using context ontology reasoning is given in HiSC. At last the software simulation results are presented in order to validate that the hierarchical semantic Web service composition framework improves the service composition efficiency compared with the centralized and point to point ones.
