Application Of The Technique Of Data Mining In Educational Administration

With the propulsion of the national education strategy and the quickly development of the economy, the demand of variety of practical talented persons becomes bigger, and the education form of modern distance open education established by the Radio and TV University has been well received by all circles in the society. In recent years, the Radio and TV Universities around adapt to the needs of society initiatively, combine the demand of the development of the economy to set up specialties, and increase strength on admittance publicity, and then obtain well results.However, in the meanwhile, the number of admittance students growing, the problem of student wastage also exists. It not only relates to the development of the Radio and TV Universities, but also is a big problem of the national distance education strategy, that students should be retained after they entered, and they can not or less wastage.The technology of data mining is the viable and effective method for analyzing the problem. The article attempts to analyze the main reason of student wastage from the role of data based on the technology of data mining, and offers a solution to take steps to prevent student wastage before they could loss.At first, we collected all kinds of information, including existed analyzed materials and statistical data. We analyzed probable reasons of student wastage preliminarily, thus ensured the topic and the scope of the problem, through analyzing this information. According to the scope of ensured before, we analyzed all kinds of data source existed, filtered them referring to the topic, so we could confirm that not only we should include all of valuable data, but also the scope of the data source be in a reasonable range. After comparing, we chose the education data and score data as the object to be analyzed.
