As virtual reality and other relevant technologies build up, virtual scene simulation and virtual roaming technique have in recent years received increasing research attention. Both have been commonly employed in tourism industry, aviation industry, military simulation, city programming, education, as well as a wide range of other industries. Tourism resource exploitation is where both technologies are highly mature. Major research objective of this thesis is Core landscape of Nanchang Stall Culture Square, called China?Stall Garden ( Stall Culture Square). Aim of the project is to combine stall culture industry projects showing great local features of Jiangxi province, with virtual roaming technique, trying to come up with an advanced square virtual scene simulation system that can be applied to landscape promotion, public information enquiry. Furthermore, simulation system also aims to facilities administration and long-term landscape planning. Overall advanced virtual roaming technique is employed to promote and safeguard national cultural heritage.The proposed system is made up of three parts, 3D scene modelling, real-time control of modelling camera realization system, control of human-machine interaction. The system is based on Altsoftware OpenGL, trying to realize breakthroughs at improving model accuracy and providing multiple roaming interactive methods. The thesis starts with analysis of OpenGL programming and its operating principles, focusing on how OpenGL render 3-D graphs and main functions of OpenGL.Subsequently it tries to illustrate how to import external 3-D models with 3DS file formula, how to analyze 3DS file block's data structure, and recursion structure of import program, data structure of re-draw model. Finally it combines graph-based and image-based model developing methods and generates a lively 3-D vitural environment for custorms, with the aid of MFC and OpenGL programs in building models.The vitural simulation and rendering system of Nanchang Stall Culture Square not only enhances vigor for specific tourism industry in Jiangxi province, improve the culture competitiveness, but is also good for national cutural heritage saving and protection.
