| VOD is a product of modern network technology, multi media technology and PC technology development.It's a new information service technology and multidisciplinary system engineering.It involves computer hardware, software, computer network communications, film development and other disciplines of engineering.It is not just a traditional computer communications technology updates, it is the birth of an interactive revolution.It is able to achieve the users' needs, at any time, arbitrarily set of hardware and software on-demand video programming system.Bandwidth of cable TV network has rich resources, it is the best solution of the"last mile of information superhighway"bottleneck. At the same time, there are a large number of cable subscribers as an important part of the access network.Therefore, the use of cable television network of VOD video on demand service is very good, with great space for development.This paper analyzes the history of radio and television operators to present opportunities and the external pressure, while cable networks, digital TV and VOD technologies are introduced.Paper combines the characteristics of cable television networks in Chongqing, and offers Chongqing VOD system proposed program.In smaller networks, the system uses a centralized solution that can be EPG Server, DTV BMS, VOD Server and deploy the equipment IPQAM other nodes in the center, making deployment and maintenance of networks are very convenient;network size is large, in order to the limited frequency resources and the backbone network bandwidth, to meet the deployment of large-capacity concurrent flow requirements, the system uses a distributed networking programs, in a distributed networking programs, the center node and the POP nodes connected by metro DWDM which DTV BMS, DTV SMS, VOD Server deployed in the central node, EPG Server, IPQAM, VOD edge nodes deployed in the POP node.Paper on Chongqing's VOD system design, system construction goal is to build 30,000 concurrent streams of VOD system which can cover the main city and some suburban counties.Overall network with a central node plus 310,000 ability to deploy a centralized structure;one central node 1000 concurrent streams, mainly used for content distribution and video backup, radio and television building plug-flow capacity of 30,000 concurrent streams.Finally on the deployment server, video on demand system performance is tested, given the test results.The results show that the VOD cable television system in Chongqing is reasonable, feasible.It can provide sufficient quantity of good quality VOD services. |
