Firstly, the paper particular introduces the background and significance of the research and current state of research.The data acquisition systems based on different buses are also compared in detail. Secondly, since the design is a data acquisition module based on PXI bus, PCI bus protocol and connection of PXI ports are introduced generally in the follow chapters. The design of the data acquisition module comprises hardware design, FPGA design and software design. The design of hardware circuit fulfill by the way of modularization structure. It consists of power management circuit, data acquisition circuit, data storage circuit PCI bridge circuit and other control circuit. The design of FPGA logic is completed under the way of modularization. We call many function modules on the top level. The function modules include data acquisition module, data storage module, PCI bridge control module and other ports control modules. The design of software consists of driver design and application program design. The driver design is fulfilled by the software of Windriver and application program is completed on the virtual instrument development software:LabWindows/CVI. Finally, we introduce the methods of the module debugging that contains hardware debugging, FPGA debugging, software debugging and board level debugging.The data acquisition module can work in the mode of uncontinuous data acquisition and continuous data acquisition. In the mode of uncontinuous data acquisition, every data channel can store sampling up to 8M; In the mode of continuous data acquisition, we can achieve real-time monitoring for all of the data channels. Considering the restriction of operation mode, the fastest speed of sampling is 50KHz.The module has great character in precision, reliability and maintainance.
