As social information service developing, wireless data transmission technology is playing an increasingly important role. Although the cable communications is still the main communication, but in some special occasions, compared with cable communications, wireless communications has more unique advantage, which has a huge development potential. For example, in the area of the network infrastructure without predetermined, the maintenance machinery is ranged and located when it is operating, water level information is back by water level detection system and data is back by wireless meter reading system. Embedded system is developing very rapidly in recent years, especially as the performance and function of embedded processor is continuous improvement and cost is reduced. The embedded system is becoming more and more attracting attention of people. Embedded system, which has constantly improved people's quality of life, has gradually worked into numerous social fields, which include the industrial control, traffic management, information appliances and so on.Considering some special local demand, form engineering practice, determining adopting wireless data transmission technology is combined with embedded system, designing and achieving the short of a point-to-point a wireless data transmission system and distance testing system.The main work in the paper is listed below:1 System in hardware selects S3C44B0 as CPU of the system, which is high performance and low power and low cost of the 32-bit RISC processor. System extend the Flash and the SDRAM for storage device, chosen wireless data transmission modules as wireless transceivers, in addition, designed the GPS modules interfaces circuit, power supply circuits and so on.2 Completing PCB board layout and system test.3 In the software on system, introducing the initialization code, writing the driver for wireless devices and the entire system applications with c language.Finally, the wireless data transmission system has been test in site. The results indicate that the system is stable and reliable, which reaches requirements of the wireless data transmission. The system can be applied to the wireless data transmission of many occasions and has a greater value in engineering applications.
