People begin to pay attention to laser pointing stability,because of the strict demand about beam pointing stability in many applications of laser.The application can be influenced while the laser beam pointing is changed.So we need a standard and a way of measurement in order to determine pointing stability.lt is necessary to do the interrelated research deeply about origin of the pointing stability in order to improve the pointing stability radically.The main job of this thesis is to find a reasonable way to insure the laser pointing.and develop a measuring system of pointing stability,which is made up of damped mirror.lens and beam analyzer.In the thesis, we analyzed the reason of the beam pointing fluctuation and drift.In addition,we measured the beam pointing fluctuation of lamp-pumped Nd:YAG laser is 24μrad,around when the temperature of coolent reach a steady state.the pointing fluctuation is 154μrad and 18μrad respectively,around the laser beam is expanded, the pointing fluctuation is 154μrad and 18μrad respectively.The change of lamp-pumped Nd:Glass laser's pointing will occur a translation of millimeter level because of the mechanical distortion caused by temperature variation.
