Free-space laser communication has a lot of advantages, such as, large communication capacity, high data communication rate, easily integrated ability, high security and so on. These are all the reasons why it became the research emphasis of nationwide scientists.Because of the motion and the disturbance between the satellite and the ground communication terminals, it is very important to maintain communication links, using high-precision acquisition, tracking and pointing (ATP) system. As the basis for tracking and pointing, acquisition is used to establish laser links and recover from interrupts, and complete as soon as possible. In order to achieve rapid establishment of laser communication links, and quickly obtain the size of area of uncertainty which is captured, in this paper, GPS/INS integrated navigation system was used to complete the alignment positioning which was captured initially by static horizontal link of laser communication link, meanwhile, the pre-pointing algorithm of this system was studied and optimized.First, dynamic initial pointing algorithm was proposed and coordinate conversion process. Then, the feasibility of the pointing system was analyzed and the hardware components as well as PC software were designed. Last, experiment were carried out according to this algorithm. Positioning accuracy of the system was obtained In the laboratory experiment. And in the outdoors experiment, the pre-pointing algorithm based on GPS/INS was calibrated, and the size of area of uncertainty of this pointing system was obtained.The research achievement of the thesis has accomplished the theoretical analysis and system design of the GPS/INS pre-pointing technology,which has been tested by the experimental results.The study have practical significance in the design of acquisition system of satellite-ground laser communication.
